About Tape Hair
1.How Many Pieces Of Tape In Extension Do I Need?
We hear this question all the time. It always depends on what you want to achieve. On average our clients opt for 40 pieces. If you go one step up, to 60 pieces, you will achieve stand out volume and will create a great look. The choice is always yours!
2.How Long Do AY Hair Tape-in Hair Extensions Last?
The average lifespan of tape-in human hair extensions is 4 to 6 months. This assumes that you are using higher quality, Virgin human hair. This might not sound much, but these are today’s averages, for better or worse.
However, unlike other fusion types, tape-in hair extensions will stay intact for months. In other words, the shorter lifespan is due to constant hair washing, drying, curling and other procedures. Since these extensions are attached using a tape, which may peel off. Get some extra double-sided tape will allow you to re-attach and re-apply extensions when needed. This is a cool trick because it allows you to significantly extend the life of your extensions.
3.What Are The Best Products To Use On My Tape In Hair Extensions?
Wash your tape in hair extensions with the 100% sulfate-free shampoo that’s specially designed for hair extensions. This is the most effective and mildest way to make your extensions stay moisture.
And again, tape-in hair extensions don’t receive any nourishing, natural oils from the scalp like our own tresses do, so it’s best to wash them as infrequently as possible to prevent them from becoming unnecessarily dry.
Always try to stay away from shampoos containing the ingredient “Sulfate”. This causes excessive drying of the hair.
Deep condition after each wash. And always, always apply a heat-protection spray before heat styling. This will extend the life of your extensions when heat styling.
4.Can I Color Or Bleach My Tape In Hair Extensions?
You may color bleach your tape in hair extensions, because they are 100% virgin human hair. But we do not recommend bleaching hair that already been dyed at our manufacture, and forcing bleach on hair that has already been dyed can be difficult.
If you truly want to bleach your tape in extensions, please consider our virgin hair with natural color (can be bleached to any colors). If you would like to dye your hair already color treated, please do for a lighter set to dye darker, rather than a darker set to bleach lighter.
And please be reminded that never try to dye the set yourself at home. Get yourself a professional hair colorist, ideally, someone who has had previous experience working with hair extensions. Test a small piece first before you decide to dye the extensions is always recommended.
5.Do Tape-in Hair Extensions Cause Damage?
Tape in extensions are actually one of the safest types of extensions you can have. Tape in hair extensions damage your hair the least out of the other options. As long as you apply and remove extensions correctly, you should have little to no hair loss or damage.
